Annual Tree Lighting: 6:30pm
Steps of the Historic Courthouse (facing High St.)

Join us in kicking off the festivities with the Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony! Enjoy dance and musical performances, a message from our title sponsor and tree sponsor, and the lighting of the 25' Tree. The ceremony will be led by our returning parade emcees Adam Joseph & Kathy Romano.

Hometown Christmas Parade: 7:00pm
Downtown West Chester

​Join us for West Chester’s famous hometown Christmas Parade! Parade goers can expect Chester County’s favorite performers as well as a variety of notable newcomers to our incredible family parade experience. This year: More marching bands by popular demand, as well as award-winning floats, sparkling performances and of course – Santa’s much-anticipated appearance! ​The 2025 West Chester Christmas Parade will also hold an all-new competition for “Best Commercial Parade Float” and “Best Nonprofit Parade Entry.”

STREET CLOSURES IN DOWNTOWN ON PARADE NIGHT

Select streets around downtown will be closed from 4:30 pm - 10:00pm. Please be aware that streets will BEGIN to be shut down around 3:50pm that afternoon to prepare for full closure by 4:30pm.

  • W. Market St. between New St. and Bradford Ave (staging area) - 4:30pm - 10pm
The Following Streets will be closed from 4:30pm - 10pm (Parade Route)
  • High St. between Gay St. & Market St. 
  • Gay St. between Matlack St. & New St. 
  • Market St. between Matlack St. & Bradford Ave. 
  • Walnut St. between Chestnut St. & Miner St. 
  • High St. between Chestnut St. & Miner St. 
  • Church St. between Chestnut St. & Market St. 
  • Darlington St. between Chestnut St. & Wollerton Alley
  • New St. between Chestnut St. & Market St.

     Cost: Flat Rate Price $20 starting at 8am
      This does not affect monthly parkers.
Bicentennial Garage: 20 S. High St.
     Cost: Flat Rate Price $20 starting at 8am
      This does not affect monthly parkers.
Justice Center Garage: 220 W. Market St.
Access via Wollerton St (driving north on Darlington)- Access to public After 5pm
     Cost: Flat Rate Price $20 starting at 8am
All Borough Lots with Kiosk Parking: 
     Cost: Flat Rate Price $20 starting at 8am

Street Parking: 
Street Parking is available around downtown (minus the parade route which is no parking starting at 3pm). Please be courteous of residential permit parking zones.

Please be aware of areas of NO PARKING on parade night to include:
  • Parade Staging Area - No Parking on West Market Street between New and Bradford Ave from 3:00pm-10:00pm on 12/5.
  • Parade Route - No Parking on entire parade route 3:00pm-10:00pm on 12/5. See map for route.
  • No Parking on 100 block of N. Walnut Street Noon-10pm on 12/5.
  • No Parking on 50 block of N & S. Church 3:00pm-10:00pm on 12/5.
Vehicles parked in these outlined areas will be subject to removal after 3pm on December 5th, at the owner’s expense.
