The Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, Downtown West Chester & Tolsdorf Oil Lube Express Present:
"Tour-de-Trike: An Adult Tricycle Relay Race Tournament"

WHAT IS IT?

Some may remember the "Trike Challenge" that was a part of the Criterium bike race previously held in Downtown West Chester. The "Tour-de-Trike" is our re-imagined version of this fan favorite event and we are excited to have Tolsdorf Oil Lube Express return as the Title Sponsor! This is an event you won't want to miss!
  • Teams will compete in a bracket style tournament for a chance to win the coveted trophy
  • Teams will consist of 5 members (Co-ed, 18+) who will each complete 1 leg of the race​
  • NEW THIS YEAR: A Second Chance Bracket - Giving eliminated teams the potential to come back into the competition after elimination

WHEN & WHERE IS IT?

The Tour-de-Trike will take place on Gay Street between Church St. & Darlington St. 
Join us on Friday August 8, 2025 from 3:30pm-6:00pm.
  • Registration opens at 3:00pm
  • First Race begins at 3:30pm
  • Adult sized tricycles will be provided!
THE RAIN DATE FOR THIS EVENT IS THE NEXT DAY - SATURDAY AUGUST 9 BEGINNING AT 1:00pm
Note: Gay Street will be closed to vehicles for the Gay Street Open-Air Market that takes place each weekend in Downtown West Chester from Friday, May 2nd to Sunday, September 28th.

THE TOUR-DE-TRIKE IS PRESENTED BY:

TOUR-DE-TRIKE RULES

  • Each participant  must pedal/scoot with two feet & all three wheels on the ground at all times
  • The rider must remain seated straddling the trike throughout the heat until their trike comes into the “zone” at the end of each course.
  • Helmets are not required.  If you choose to ride with helmets, any type of helmet is acceptable, and they may be decorated to show your team spirit!
  • No “pushing off” at or after a start line.  (Violation of this rule is a disqualification).
  • Trike exchanges must be done after the trike goes into the “zone.” Riders must “exchange” the Trike within the “zone”.  A rider receiving the trike must be on the trike before exiting the “zone”.
  • Riders MUST STAY SEATED for the entirety of the race 
  • No open-toed shoes may be worn (ie: flip flops)
  • No loose clothing may be worn
  • All decisions by the judges are final.

TEAM REGISTRATION

  • Teams of 5 individuals
  • Racers must be Co-Ed & 18+
  • Total of 20 teams Accepted
  • All participants will be asked to sign a liability waiver
  • Please specify t-shirt sizes for your team members upon registration!
  • Team Spirit & creative outfits are ENCOURAGED!
  • One team of 5 racers (18+) 
  • Logo on all digital event promotion
  • Recognition on GWCC & Downtown West Chester’s social media/websites
  • Logo on back of participant T-shirts
  • An official 2025 Tour-De-Trike T-shirt for each of your racers (5)
  • Option to add 2 elements to racers swag bag
  • Option to bring & set up tent along race route​ (10x10 space provided - you bring tent, table & chair(s) No electric)

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR 2024 TOUR-DE-TRIKE CHAMPS!

Brandywine Valley Heating & Air Conditioning took home the win, making them three time Trike race champions! Kildare's Irish Pub put up a good fight, but BVHVAC pulled away in the final stretch! This was a ridiculous event and we can't wait to bring it back next year!!!
